Home Tour - Living Room

I shared the progress of our outdoor area at our new house last month here, and now I am moving on and working on the inside even more.  As always, it's definitely a work in progress (unless my money tree that we planted starts growing faster.)  We still have a lot of decorating to do inside, but luckily most of the furniture and pieces we already had worked for our new house too.  Our new house has so much natural light in the living room, so it is crazy how different the same furniture can look in a different house.  We have lots of espresso brown furniture, so I wanted to add a lot of bright white accents and also lots of color.  Our new living room is much bigger than our last one, so we were able to fit even more pieces in here for seating.  We just added the leather recliner (thanks to Shane's plea!), so I wanted to get a side table for it that could even be used as seating too.  I found this perfect white ceramic side table at Gordmans for only $34.99.  I had a 20% off coupon, so it ended up being $28!  I have seen the exact same side table at quite a few other stores for around $100, so I was feeling pretty good about this great find!

All of the other furniture was in our last house as well as we are trying to use what we already had as much as we can.  With all the natural light, I wanted to add even more color, so I added a purple throw blanket on the couch.  I think it picks up the purple from the vases and paintings, and I think it completes the room pretty nicely.  I am still looking for a couple more pieces for the wall, but I feel we have definitely made progress so far!  If you're looking at redecorating or just sprucing up a room in your house, make sure you check out Gordmans.  You can find some crazy deals, and make sure you print off the 20% off coupon below!  What do you think about my living room so far?  Where are your favorite stores to find great furniture and home decor items?

I also want to share about a very special campaign that Gordmans is running right now.  The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and Gordmans, Inc. are teaming up to promote ADL's No Place for Hate initiative to help eradicate hatred, prejudice and bullying as students and teachers prepare to head back to school this month.  Through the month of August, Gordmans will join ADL in a call to action encouraging individuals, parents, teachers and students to take a stand against bullying and prejudice in schools and communities. Guests at Gordmans stores are invited to purchase “Helping Hands” for $1 each or more in support of the initiative. Every dollar raised will directly benefit ADL’s No Place for Hate anti-bullying initiatives.  So get to shopping, and don't forget the coupon and your helping hands contribution.  = )
