House Tour - Shane's Studio Room

Shane not only gets one room at the house (the garage), he gets 2 rooms at our house!  = )  We have 4 bedrooms plus an extra small room off the laundry room, so Shane decided to turn it into his studio/office/art room.  It is perfect for him to play guitar in and finally use his recliner in (yes, there was a lot of pleading for him to finally get a recliner!)  We've still got a few more finishing touches to add, but it is definitely coming along.  I did pick out and buy most of the pieces in the room, but he decorated himself.  Don't tell him I told you this, but he really does love to decorate (good thing he doesn't read my blog.)  The first piece we added to his studio was this custom canvas that I got for Shane this past spring for his birthday.  We took a few pictures of his favorite Fender Strat that I bought him when we first started dating (11 years ago this fall), and then I uploaded my favorite photo to Snapmade.  It was quick and easy to design the canvas, and it was very inexpensive compared to other places I have seen that offer the same service.  We could have went and bought a canvas to go in his studio, but I thought this would be much more special.  Now we're working on getting some more canvases made so we can hang up pictures from our beach trip.  Snapmade also makes all kinds of different personalized gifts, so you can put your favorite prints on anything you want.

Shane picked up the art desk at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago, and it was inexpensive and perfect for him to work at.  I was at Gordmans a few weeks and just got lucky that they had this gray shag rug on clearance for $40!  I scooped up that and the small wood plaque to sit on his desk, and I feel like his room is good mixture of modern, artistic and "manly."  P.S. Gordmans is now online too, so you can finally pick up all the great deals you see in stores online now too!  What do you think about Shane's mancave?  I'm sure he will be saying he needs a flatscreen in there any day now.  = )
