A couple weekends ago, my mom, sister, Leighton and I had a fun little girls' weekend in Nashville.  Shane was out of town, so it was the perfect opportunity to have a fun little trip for ourselves too.  Our trip was a little last minute and was pretty short (only one day to spend in Nashville), but we squeezed in some of our favorite things that had been on our list.  I hadn't stayed at Gaylord Opryland Resort since I was a little kid, so I knew I definitely wanted to go back and see the beautiful resort again.  I've stayed at the Gaylord Texan a couple times for work and absolutely love it, so I was excited to see how the one in Nashville compared.

From the moment we walked in, all the beautiful gardens caught our attention.  And since it's December, there are lights and decorations and trees throughout which makes it even more magical.  We had the BEST time!  We stayed in a gorgeous suite which was perfect since Leighton was with us and we needed a little more room.  The living area of the suite was adjoining, so we were able to put her pack n play in the room nextdoor, and I used a monitor.  That way, we could stay up and watch movies and have some adult time hanging out after Leighton's bedtime.  The next morning we had room service delivered to our room, and it was so good.  We ate it while overlooking the beautiful atrium.

Saturday we did quite a bit of shopping at Shop Dress Up and Draper James, we made a pit stop at Sprinkles Cupcakes, and then we had dinner together.  Sunday morning was our last morning before we made the 3 hour drive back to Memphis.  We got up early and had just enough time to see ICE! before we left Gaylord Opryland.  ICE! was even better than what I had heard, and I had only heard great things.  They have slides and characters from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer carved out of ice.  It was so magical.  Leighton was absolutely in awe.  I thought she would freeze to death, but I don't think she even minded while walking around looking at all the ice sculptures.  My only advice is to bundle up and make sure to take plenty of pictures!
