Y'all, I am SO excited to finally share my big reveal and some home office ideas with y'all. This room was previously a room that was NEVER, ever used in our house. It was a guest bedroom...where no one ever stayed. It was basically useless. I finally decided last year that this room could be much better utilized as an office. After all, it has 2 large closets in it where I keep all my clothing that I am about to shoot for the blog, a pile of clothing Leighton has outgrown that I need to sell, and then stuff that I no longer wear that I will eventually get around to listing on ebay. It basically became like that junk drawer we all have in our house...except this became an entire room! It was time for a change.
I am always wanting a space to hang up my stuff for shoots to keep things organized, a place to do my makeup, and a place to sometimes work. Duh, I needed an office! I wanted to also be able to somewhat use it as a dressing room too...without it looking just like a dressing room. I wanted the room to have pretty shades of pink and blue in it, but I also wanted it to be bright and white and fun and modern. This pretty teal and pink rug was the first thing that I picked out for the room, and it was the perfect inspiration piece for the room. I couldn't be happier with how the room turned out. It was exactly what I was looking for!
I knew I wanted a large desk where I could sit facing a couple different directions and have "stations" to get certain work done at each. This desk is perfect. Seriously, I am in love with it! I have a large pinboard to hang up pictures, notes or inspiration. I have a magazine holder to hold plenty of magazines and books that I use for inspiration. I have 2 large shelves that can hold pictures or notes with little clips that hang from the shelves. The bookcase houses 2 bins that have purses and clutches in them to free up a little of my closet space. I added a space saving clothing rack so I could sit out exactly what outfits I need to shoot next time and not overlook anything. I also have a full length mirror so I can even get ready and do my hair and makeup in here if I want. This is exactly the multi-tasking room I was looking for. It has quickly become my new favorite room in the house! What do you think about my home office ideas?
